What's up with hate?

Sometime over the July 4th week-end, someone scrawled this message on the window of the ArtRage Gallery in the Hawley-Green neighborhood of Syracuse: "There is no such thing as a proud Queer!" It was probably done in response to the display of LGBTQ supportive posters, books and pins visible through the window of the ArtRage retail shop - PosterWorks. Most visible is a poster proclaiming "Generation 'Q': Young - Proud - Queer".

A bunch of us beg to differ!
We are Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and we are Proud of who we are.
We are also Straight Allies proud to support LGBTQ people!

Join us in our non-violent protest by erasing hate with messages of love, pride and acceptance. Make your own sign of pride and post your picture here, AND email it to proudincny@gmail.com

Our goal is to collect 100 pictures by 2 p.m. on Friday, July 10! (But we will keep collecting pictures after that time as well). All pictures will be displayed at the ArtRage gallery gathering for this incident from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, July 10 as well. ArtRage is located at 505 Hawley Avenue, Ph: 315-218-5711.
